Shreyas Multispecialty hospital and Research Institute has been founded by Dr. Shishir Narendra Jirge and Dr. Padma Rekha Jirge. The journey started with Jirge clinic in 1998 and subsequently expanded to Shreyas Hospital in 2003.
Dr. Shishir Jirge completed MBBS from Miraj Medical College and pursued his post graduate education in General surgery in the same college and obtained the MS degree in 1987. Before starting super specialist training he worked in the prestigious Breach Candy Hospital and P D Hinduja National Hospital in Mumbai from 1988 to 1991. He started his super specialist training in Urology at the Sir JJ Hospital and Grant medical college in 1991 and completed it in 1993 with a gold medal from the Bombay University. He worked as a lecturer in Urology at Sion hospital in Mumbai for one year in 1994. He was subsequently selected by the Royal College of Surgeons of England for training in Urology and trained in various Institutes in Crew and Glasgow from 1994 to 1997. These were busy Urology units and main referral centers for cancer, trauma and endoscopic surgeries. As a result, he could consolidate his previous training in managing patients with complex urological problems.
After returning to India in 1997, he set up Shreyas Hospital and subsequently Sushrut Assisted Conception Clinic along with his wife Dr Padma Rekha Jirge. Since 1998 he provides comprehensive General Urology, Uro-oncology, Endourology, Reconstructive Urology, paediatric Urology and Andrology services at Shreyas Hospital. Sushrut Assisted Conception Clinic is a tertiary referral center for infertility treatment and a wide range of treatments consisting of IUI, IVF, ICSI are performed here. Specialised procedures such as PESA, TESA, TESE and sperm cryopreservation are routinely performed here.
This unit is involved in many research activities. Dr. Shishir Jirge serves as the honorary secretary of Shreyas Institutional ethics committee since 2017. He is also a co-founder of PRISMATIC Research Foundation which helps the underprivileged to access modern healthcare and provides training in clinical research of medical graduates.
He is the founder of Shreyas Reproductive Medicine Clinic which is an ART bank and gamete banking services are provided here. He is a Consultant Urologist and Head of Department of Urology at the Government Medical College in Kolhapur (RCSM Govt Medical College) since April 2003.
Dr. Shishir Jirge MCh (Urology)Dr. Padma Rekha Jirge completed MBBS from Bangalore Medical College. She pursued her postgraduate education in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the United Kingdom and obtained the prestigious MRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London in 1993. Subsequently she undertook training in high risk Obstetrics, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries. This was followed by a two year period as a clinical research fellow in assisted reproductive technology in Glasgow Royal Infirmary which helped gain a very scientific training in IVF. In addition, this laid a firm foundation for her career in clinical research. She was part of the team which first addressed the role of leutinising hormone in IVF cycles, which led to milestone publications in scientific journals.
Since returning to India in 1997, she has strived to provide a very scientific, evidence based and humane care in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine at Shreyas Hospital. Along with her husband, Dr. Shishir Jirge, she set up the Sushrut Assisted Conception Clinic, which has helped thousands of couples to realise their dream of becoming parents. This unit is a recognised center nationally for training Gynaecologists across the country to become IVF specialists.
She has continued her work in clinical research and has multiple publications in various international journals. Her areas of special interest include genital tuberculosis and infertility, ovarian reserve, PCOS and fertility preservation. She has held distinguished positions at state, national and international organisations related to IVF.
In addition to the clinical and research work, she has an executive MBA degree in healthcare management; and a postgraduate diploma in medical law and ethics from National Law School India University, Bangalore. Most recently, she has completed her M Sc in Epidemiology from the University of Edinburgh. She is also a co-founder of PRISMATIC Research Foundation which serves the dual purpose of helping the underprivileged to access modern healthcare and training in clinical research of medical graduates.

Dr Maya Patki Sangavadekaris a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician. She completed her MBBS from TNMC Nair hospital,Mumbai and MD from Seth G S medical KEM Hospital Mumbai. She has a Fellowship in Gynaecological Endoscopic surgery From D Y Patil University Kolhapur.
She has been in private practice in Kolhapur since last 29 yrs. She extends her expert services as an honorary at Panchaganga Hospital, Kolhapur. Her special interests include laparoscopic surgery,vaginal surgery and high risk obstetric care.
Dr Amita Patake (Haridas) is a medical professional with a rich experience of 28 years in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is a graduate of Government Medical College, Miraj and completed her post-graduation (D.G.O) from the same institute.
For the last 24 years, she has led her private practice and specialised in preventive Onco-gynaecology. She provides advice and services for HPV vaccination, cervical smear and colposcopy as part of the preventive Gynaecology services.

Dr Dilip Paranjape is a consultant anaesthetist, with MD (Anaesthesia) from KEM institute, Mumbai in 1978.
He has provided anaesthesia and related services in Kolhapur since 1979. He is recognised for hispioneering work in safety of Anaesthesia as the state president during 2008-2010. Has established two ICUs in Mary Wanless hospital and Laxmi Narayan Janseva Rugnalay and worked as chief intensivist for 5 years in each of these organisations .
